CONS608: CONTENTIOUS ISSUES IN CONSERVATION

In Fall 2009, I will be teaching a new seminar focusing on Contentious Issues in Conservation. The theme is that each week we will discuss one high-profile and controversial topic in modern conservation. A draft syllabus can be found here.

REMOTE SENSING & CONSERVATION GIS

Periodically I teach short-courses in remote sensing and conservation GIS. These are collaborative with the Instituto de Pesquisas Ecológicas (IPÊ), a very successful conservation NGO in Brazil. My next courses will be in August, with one course near São Paulo (August 17 - 24) and a second in the Amazon (August 26 - 31). For more information, contact Clinton Jenkins or check the IPÊ website. These courses are generally taught in Portuguese.
