Current NASA Activities:
Sensitivity analysis of ocean surface radiometry from space, evaluate radiometric performance on estimation of derived parameters (e.g.,chlorophyll a concentration), and evaluate radiometric performance requirements in context of parameter uncertainty.
Quantified the role of small scale clouds on the retrieval of ocean surface reflectance and derived products for moderate resolution spaceborne scanning sensors. Poster presented at Ocean Science 2006 Meeting; manuscript being prepared.
Currently conducting research in multi-angular remote sensing of coastal marshlands to retrieve information about canopy architecture. This entails field measurements of leaf-area index and canopy reflectance spectra, development and calibration of instruments, and work with CHRIS/Proba and ASTER satellite data.
