This is Xin, a first-year PhD student in the University of Maryland's College of Information Studies (iSchool), and Human-Computer Interaction Lab (HCIL). I work with Prof. Joel Chan in the MegaCognition Lab. My research is on using techniques from HCI and NLP to help people effectively manage, communicate, reuse, and create knowledge. In the summer of 2018, I interned at DAMO Academy, Alibaba group building modules for a shopkeeper chatbot (dialog state tracking with C2C E-Commerce data). Previously, I finished my Master of Language Technologies prgram at Language Technologies Institute, SCS, CMU. I was working on information retrieval and social media analysis with Prof. Jamie Callan. Prior to CMU, I received my B.S. in Software Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2016, during which I also worked on information retrieval evaluation in the University of Waterloo with Prof. Jimmy Lin.
